Nursing Home Neglect Results in Injury Settlement

Residential care facility Cascade Home Care, failed to report 87 year old man’s fall off of his bed onto the floor. The resident suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and was supposed to be assisted with two persons while walking due to his risk of falling. This nursing home neglect case took place on his first day of admittance.

The residential care facility is supposed to report all injuries of residents, as required by Washington State Department of Health and Social Services and was failed to do so.

After the fall, the victim had injuries that caused him to go to the emergency room. X-rays showed that he had fractured his right hip and underwent emergency surgery.

An investigation showed the neglect of the victim’s care at the residential care facility.
